Sounds great - couple of questions

If this web part lives up to its description then it should be terrific!

I just wanted to clarify a couple of things. The description mentions allowing a 'select group of users to add but not view list content' and also form validation.

Could you provide a little more detail about these features.

  • Does it use impersonation to add content, or are you just hiding the list URL by providing the form on another page?
  • What sort of validation is offered? Can we see a list?
  • Can the form be customised to only show selected fields?

I know I could find this all out for myself by installing it but I usually like to know what a feature can do before taking that step.

  • Does it use impersonation to add content, or are you just hiding the list URL by providing the form on another page? Yes, to add items, I use impersonation (RunWithElevatedPrivileges). But the item still show the current user in the Last Modified field.
  • What sort of validation is offered? It's out of the box validation, the same validation that SharePoint use in NewForm.aspx pages.
  • Can we see a list?  Yes, if you have the right permissions.
  • Can the form be customised to only show selected fields? Not yet, the form does not show hidden and ReadOnly fields. (nice idea for future release ;-)
